Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:• Understand the different components of literary analysis.• Understand and explain the different elements of a piece of literature, whether a play, a poem, or a novel.• Draw connections between ideas in a literary text, extract, summarize and paraphrase main ideas of a literary text.• Carefully examine and evaluate a work of literature or an aspect of a work of literature.• Design a new literary piece of writing, analyzing, comparing and synthesizing certain aspects in a literary text

This session introduces you to the structure of the literary analysis to a novel, a poem or a play, in addition to how to write an introduction and thesis statement.
