Welcome to the Introduction to Network Micro-Credential Course,
This course is designed for learners looking for a solid foundation in networking basics. Learners will acquire the basics of networking, from network fundamentals and technologies to the principles and structure of IP addressing, Ethernet concepts, and network application communications. It aims at building learners’ knowledge and skills in infrastructure networking and lays the foundation for the Cisco Certified Network Associate certification.
The expected duration of the course is 10 weeks. You are expected to dedicate approximately 10 hours per week to successfully completing this micro-credential course. Note that no prior experience or qualification is needed to enroll in this undergraduate micro-credential course. Only basic computer usage skills are needed.
To enroll in the Introduction to Networks course, you will need to create an account at the Cisco Networking Academy (netacad). For this purpose, open the Cisco Networking Academy page using the following URL: https://www.netacad.com/. To create your account, click on login then Sign up. Once you have created your account, click on the following link: enroll-me to enroll in the Introduction to Networks course (make sure you are logged into your netacad account). There you will have access to the course materials, activities, lab, and the different types of exams (modules exams (called checkpoints) and Final exam).
Upon successful completion, you will receive a Certificate of Completion and a Digital badge from the Cisco Networking Academy. For this you will need to meet the following:
- Complete the Modules exams (checkpoints, there are six) with a grade higher than 70% (unlimited attempts).
- Pass the final exam course with 70% or higher (only 1 attempt is allowed).
- Complete the end of course survey.
You will also need to download the latest Packet Tracer application which you will be using during your study to complete hands-on activities. You will need your netacad credentials (email and password) to be able to use Packet Tracer.
Once you have successfully completed all the exams, you MUST email Mr. Karim Rizkallah at krizkallah@aou.edu.lb so that he marks you as complete. Make sure to mention in your message your full name (as mentioned on netacad) and to use the following “Introduction to Networks (Micro-credential)” as the subject of your email.
Wishing an enjoyable journey in the networking world.
